The newest littlest Little Library

Some months back, the Wheelock community Initiative approached Matt Stark (woodworking instructor St. Johnsbury Academy) about whether he and his students could help bring a little library to South Wheelock residents at  Chandler Pond Farm. The little library we had at the South Wheelock Fire Station (created by a resident who has moved to Barnet) did not survive the winter and the books inside it were ruined. We wanted to replace it by recycling a cabinet from a thrift shop, but none of them were sturdy enough.

Matt and his students created an absolutely stunning little library that is now installed at the farm stand, under cover on the porch. The Dill family are so excited to host it for the community. WCI had a plaque created to acknowledge the students’ work.
